They are offering free learning resources and products to educators who are interested in teaching their students about #healthyhygiene practices.
The Healthy Hygiene project is committed to teaching adolescents about caring for their bodies and the earth by making sustainable choices. This project aims to bring awareness and provide solutions for the following global initiatives:

• “In India, 1 in 4 girls drops out of school when they start menstruating, because they don’t have the appropriate supply of products.” – WASH United
• “1 in 10 African girls miss school during menses, eventually leading to a higher school drop out rate.” – UNESCO
• In Rwanda, the national exam passing rate among girls jumped from 14.7% to 76% when community members were educated about menstruation and provided with private latrines. – Global Grassroots
The launch of this project corresponds with National Women’s Health Week (5/8/16 – 5/14/16), and Menstrual Hygiene Day (5/28/16). The dynamic educational materials that have been created for this project are available to download at Be Prepared. Period.
Teachers and educators will be instructed to provide an email address at time of download to receive email support that will assist them in project participation. Resources will include a lesson plan, exclusive coupon code to shop at www.bepreparedperiod.com, and the opportunity to participate in an Organic Period 2-GO Kits fundraiser to finance continued health education.
“I started this site to help provide my own daughter with better choices for her health.
