There’s gotta be a better way. (Spoiler alert: there is.)
One of the most important aspects of taking control of your health is education. Whether you’re 9 or you’re 49 – there is so much going on and vying for our attention. Often times, the most important stuff gets overlooked. Let’s be real – in the midst of to-do lists and schedules and life, it can be hard to justify making time to research healthier choices, much less incorporate that wellness into our routines. We’re here to tell you: this is one of the most important decisions you can make for your wellbeing. When we start our periods, we often reach for the most convenient product (and sometimes that means just following along in the footsteps of what our grandmothers, mothers, and sisters have done before us.) But here’s the thing – there’s a better way. Luckily, period products have come a long way since our grandmothers or mothers started their period. And even if that wasn’t the case, what works for them may not work for you. That’s why it’s so important to do a little work to figure out what truly works best for our bodies. Repeat after us: Everybody is different. Every body is different. Everybody has the right to know what they’re putting in their body, and make the decision that works best for them.
There is power to be found in standing up for your health. There is power to be found in seeking knowledge and educating yourself on your options. And most importantly, there is power in finding the option that works best for you (not your mom or your BFF!) and living an educated, healthy, more natural life.
