Hello! I am a 35 year old woman who is getting married in early July and will unfortuantly be on my period. I am a virgin and just began using Instead Softcups a few months ago. Instead says you can be intimate on your period while wearing the Softcup with no problems, but my fiance is a little nervous about it being more painful for me or the menstrual blood coming out during. I know that where the Softcup sits is not where he will be when intimate, but just wanted reassurance from someone who has actually been intimate while wearing the Softcup. Thank you!

Hi Amanda! I'm Kaitlin, brand director for Softcup. I'm happy to hear you took the Softcup plunge and are loving it :) Rest assured, wearing Softcup during intercourse should be comfortable for both you and your partner. In our studies, most men were unaware of Softcup. The few that could feel Softcup reported that is wasn't a distraction. If your soon-to-be husband does feel anything, it will be the reservoir portion of Softcup, which once in the body is warm and will likely feel similar to the vaginal wall. For peace of mind, I recommend inserting a new cup prior to intercourse. It's best to start off in missionary position and go from there. Some positions, depending on the angle, can cause the male to feel Softcup more than others. Typically woman on top, or man behind the woman cause the penis to come into contact with Softcup. In my personal experience, having been a Softcup user for almost five years, I've never had my partner feel Softcup, nor have I experienced discomfort or leakage. I hope this helps! If you'd like more information, please call 858.550.1900 and asked to be transferred to me. Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials! Kaitlin B.
