So I had my last period jan21-25. Â I have been on the birth control pill for manY years. After my period ended I didn’t have time to go in and get more pills, so I decided to take a month off from the pill. I had unprotected sex. Â I still have not started. Should I be worried? I have read that periods can be delayed when you go off the pill but idk what to do.

Hello Ashtyn. I was on the pill for many years also and decided to stop taking it. I did not have periods at first I missed a month and when they did come they were irregular. Sometimes I would have two per month until my body readjusted to its natural state. If you have had unprotected sex even though the pill will still be in your system I would do a test just to make sure. I did this as I missed my first period so thought I was pregnant..I turned out I wasn't it was just the effects of stopping the pill. But I had to do a test just to make sure. Hope this helps you.
