Need help convincing mom to let me try a menstrual cup

Category:

Hi! I asked mom about menstral cups and she was cool with the idea until her gyno said something about young girls not cleaning it right. The doc got my mom worried and she said to wait until I’m over 20. I do not want to wait and I was thinking about asking again in a few months with cleaning procedures included. Thoughts?

UPDATE: Thank you for all the support! I’m now going on three cycles of bliss with the diva cup (and wash) that I got from my local whole foods. Yay!

Greetings, I do believe yiur blog could possibly be having
internet browser compatibility issues. When I look at your website in Safari, it looks fine however, iff opening in IE, it's got some
overlapping issues. I merely wanted to provide you with a quick heads up!

Besides that, wonderful blog! https://ukrain-Forum.Biz.ua/

 Hi Gab!

I switched to a menstrual cup last year and find cleaning it to be rather easy. There is a soapy wash from Diva Cup to clean it after wearing, then at the end of your cycle you just boil it for 5-10 minutes for sterilization. Easy peasy. If you can make pasta, you can handle the cup cleaning.

Good luck with your mom!!

Jen

My first thought is that your mom cannot make you wait until your 20, unless that's the legal adult age where you're from.  My other thought is that, if your mom is okay with you using tampons, she should check out http://you-are-loved.org and the moldy tampon reports.

There are the disposable soft cups on this website. That way you don't have to worry about cleaning them because you just take it out and throw it away.

Not any different than a tampon.

Good luck!
