Why do I NOT feel cramps?

I’ve started my period very recently, as in a few weeks ago. I know it’s not much time to go on, but I still want to ask. My mom and my aunts have felt really bad cramps during their periods, but I don’t. I don’t even feel a pinch. It feels the same as any other day, except I notice I am much hungrier than normal. Maybe it’s because I haven’t had an especially heavy flow, but I’m just a bit concerned. Is this normal not to feel cramps or pinches, especially since my relatives have?

Lucky you! I'm 19, and I got my first period when I was 13. One of the very first symptoms I get to know that it is coming is cramps and brown tinged discharge. The cramping gets worse when I actually start my period, and then lasts for a day or two. By the third day of my period, the cramping  and bloating goes away for me. I take Advil and ibuprofen whe the cramping is irritating enough, and won't stop.

When you first start, you don't normally feel much pain, but as you get older the lining in your womb sometimes gets thicker, making for heavier flows andmore pain.

I either don't get cramps or only very light cramps.  It's normal to not feel pain during menstruation!  Your mom and aunts might want to investigate acupuncture or chiropractic or their diet to resolve the pain.  Pain hurts, and they should not have to endure it.
